Keyboard, contrast, reduced motion

The site aims for WCAG 2.2 level AA. Here is what is actually in place, how it is checked, and what remains to be done.

What is in place

  • Full keyboard navigation: a skip link leads straight to the content, and every interactive element shows a visible outline when it receives focus.
  • Motion you can switch off: the site follows your system’s “reduce motion” setting, and a switch in the footer lets you turn animations off by hand.
  • Text alternatives: meaningful images are described, decorative visuals are hidden from screen readers. The mood videos are silent and purely illustrative.
  • Contrast checked on the site’s colour combinations.
  • A language declared on every page, so that speech synthesis reads it correctly.

How it is checked

An automated audit against the WCAG 2 A and AA rules runs on more than twenty-five pages with every test campaign: any critical or serious violation fails the suite.

Automated tests also cover keyboard navigation, from the skip link to the basket.

What remains to be done

An automated audit only detects some of the real problems. The site has not yet been tested end to end with screen readers or at 200% zoom, and no formal statement of conformity has been drawn up.

Full AA conformity therefore remains a goal, not a promise kept everywhere. Any gaps found are corrected as they arise.

Report a problem

If a page gives you trouble, with a keyboard, a screen reader or for any other reason, let us know: every report helps improve the site for everyone.
